"In Two Worlds" (2007) depicts the two worlds of Western classical, employing the Sarabande from Bach's 5th Suite for solo cello, in which I play it in full, but elongate certain rhythms. Over top are Iroquois bone rattle and hand-drum parts with Plains Indian falsetto singing, both performed by Steven Alvarez (Mescalero Apache). The Indigenous layering is put over the Bach which acts as a pentimento.
